Artist Interview: Sacred Revolution

Sacred Revolution has been developing from a project to build up youth to lead worship on a musical and spiritual level.  Check out their site for more details on that.  This year has been a year of preparation and growth for the team.  Their influences range from Family Force 5, Toby Mac, Steve Fee, Unhindered, and Stellar kart to Anberlin and Mike Shinoda to Casting Crowns and Kutless to Underoath and Disciple.

Several of the band members have assisted in helping us get to know them a bit better.

James Tatum, guitarist and eldest member of the team explains how they pulled together, “We came together early last year. We all wanted to use the talents that God had given us. So Josh and Andria gave us that chance.” Regarding his personal goals, James has a heart for youth and young adults emanating from his enthusiastic interaction with them, “I would like to be a worship leader. Like Monty Ader. If I get the chance to be like Chris Tomlin, I would think about it.”  James is a young adult, but his encouragement and jolly spirit have been beneficial in moving the band forward.

Morgan Flinchum, vocalist, has gained new perspective over the last year.  She says, Never be afraid to worship in front of others, and don’t be afraid to be yourself.”  A rising 8th grader, Morgan has maturity beyond her years.  “[Music] is what people do in their spare time usually. People listen to it in the car. It impacts how we think and talk.”  She talks about the impact missions such as World Hope has had on her life, “It has helped me realize that suffering does happen and that I should help those who need it!” Morgan’s focus while leading worship is evident.  Upward.

Luke Stack, electric guitarist, may seem one of the more silent of the group, but his dedication and support for the band helps provide a fervent undertone during rehearsals.  Luke comments on God’s family, “The church has showed me that God is everything and we are nothing without him.“  Music has an impact on Luke’s everyday.  “Music is a big part of my life. I can listen to it all the time and never get tired of it. It is also a way of worship for me.”

The Bible says in 1 Timothy 4:12:

Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but be an example for other believers in your speech, behavior, love, faithfulness, and purity.

Sacred Revolution would appreciate your support and prayers as they continue on in leading their peers to look to Jesus for everything.
